• 1370 The first modern perfume at the command of Queen Elizabeth of Hungary known throughout Europe as Hungary Water.
• 1400’s France became the European center of perfume and cosmetic manufacture when cultivation of flowers for their perfume essence grew into a major industry in the south of France until today.
• 1700’s Perfumes were built on a single-flower like rose, violet, lilac, & lily of the valley, used primarily by royalty and the wealthy to mask body odors resulting from the sanitary practices of the day.
• 1900’s Modern fragrance revolution begins in US with arrival of European scents.
• 2000’s Mass production of fragrances begins; fragrance use widely accepted by male and female consumers.
